found out how respec works and no Mastery respecc, it's ok, but i have a question
.title

played a Lich to 50 and just cannot win against that Crab Boss.
I then made some adjustments in my skillstrees and found out i need to level the skills again.
I just had to make some small adjustements to make him somewhat tankier and get more HP from life drain, but still couldnt kill that boss. The burst damage is too high and it seems i lack armor or gear in general.
I decided to try Necro Abomination, unskilled whole Lich and also Acolyth skilltree and because i'd use different skills i despecialized all skills, knowing the points and XP invested are gone.
But i then realised i cannot change Mastery. :(

Ok learning it the hard way i guess.
My Lich skills are dropped from 17 to 7 now, i dont even consider trying the boss again and i also dont know how to make him tankier to survive that fight.

Decided to make a complete new Char for Necromancy and try Abomination against that Boss, i'll maybe still fail, but well this is how it goes.

How long would it take to reskill the Lich skills from 7 to 17?
I may come back to Lich later, but actually im too pissed that i gimped my Lich so hard.

Devs should warn people that respecc means that invested points are gone.
There should also be a hint that you cannot respecc Mastery class.

YT is full with wrong info about that, as you could respecc in EA i guess, they just dont say a word about how it is in 1.0
I dont disagree with this design decision, although it's only a retention mechanic and adds nothing for the player.

It will take about an hour to bring your skills from 7 to 17. Maybe two if you're not doing monoliths.
I dont think i can do monlith atm, because i'm still in the campaign.
If i can i need a hint how to.

As Tyyne said there's a big text box when choosing your Mastery that tells you it's a permanent choice.
maybe i've missed this, but i just recently switched to english as german transaltion was full of mistakes and wrong info.

You will never be tanky enough to survive one shots, they're designed to one shot you. Avoid his attacks as best as possible and rely on your Ward/HP/Armor/Resistances to survive what hits you do take, and use Health Regen/Leech to heal up what damage you do take.
Ok but these oneshot boss design is just silly and bad like in many arpgs. Well at least they dont have like 3 health bars or "stages".

Edit, also regarding your skill respecs they literally have multiple tooltips teaching you about how respeccing and minimum skill levels work as you start unlocking those features. So the game tells you "when you despecialize a skill or remove points you will start at, or lose skill points until you reach, the minimum skill level." minimum skill level goes up every 5 levels IIRC.
The game may tell, but understanding it in english is not allways granted :P
max Skill level is 20?
english not my motherlanguage, german translation full of wrong info's or hard to understand info's, but in english it's not much better.
I'm not a guide player, i allways find out things by myself and like trying out different builds and do my own builds i have fun with.
Sometimes finding out i just made an A or S build my myself and others use it too, but i like to experiment and find out myself rather than to copy blindly from another.

U can start end game (monoliths) in chapter once u have reach the end of time. Ur lvl 50 which means u have access to end game. Go to the end of time. Walk all the way to the right side of the town. U will see a bridge click it. It will take u to the first end game timeline. An area lvl 58 zone.

20 is the max base skill level. U can get skills to go higher from +skill affixes on gear.

There is a huge textbox hinting that you can not change mastery. Learning how to read might help.
