The stability meter determines how much overall stability you get for the monolith, i.e. you need to run fewer maps for your three quests to unlock. Not really worth it either, imo. Better to go straight for the objective and be done with it due to a higher frequency of echo rewards. And it determines the number of items in the big reward chest. Also not worth it, imo.
Just one thing I would look out for: There are maps that give you 40% increased XP and 40% increased item rarity. Those I would full-clear. Especially when they you have a map that has a high density of rare enemies. Combined they are extremely lucrative.
