With Lost Epoch, idk how much seasonal content there is. Exiled Mages are the main thing I notice that's new. Obviously, factions are new, but that's just an addition to the core game rather than seasonal.
The one unique thing about seasons in LE is how the economy for Merchant's guild is going to change since I'm assuming everything currently up for auction will be gone (or in whatever the eternal/standard realm is called).
Unless things have changed since the 1.0 launch the developer mike said it best, it could be years until seasonal content.
In a recent livestream, he said the next cycle would be 3-4 months after release. Here's the VOD if anyone is interested: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2111740390
I don't see the point of having another cycle if there isn't going to be new content, but I guess it could just be adding more core content to the game. I guess in that case it wouldn't be "seasonal content".
Most up to date info I am aware of is when mike spoke about "Seasonal Content" he said it could be years.
New content =/= seasonal content.
He said new cycle in the stream. What's the point of a new cycle if there isn't seasonal content? Why make a "new cycle" if it's just to add new content. Just an excuse to reset everything?
Marketing? New Supporter packs? I know the packs were set to leave the store with each season. EA 2.0 Electric Boogaloo.
Why not just add content gradually without some kind of manufactured replayability mechanism.
I play a lot of alts so I generally don't mind starting over. I didn't like how Diablo 4 started the first season 6 weeks after launch. I was in a middle of a bunch of playthroughs and didn't like having to end them so soon.
I do sort of agree that starting over doesn't seem like it should be necessary, but at the same time I wonder if people would find it as appealing. Some people would prefer to retain all their progress, but idk if that's the majority.
The point of having cycles if there is no seasonal content ? Who knows. Reset of the broken economy.. leaderboards... many reasons most people probably don't care about.
Fact is. They arent particulary fast and good with providing actual content to the game.. hence it takes very long.
What we know is that the next cycle will introduce a pinnacle boss system.
They can/will release the seasonal/cycle content without finishing the story. They already said that the focus of the next cycle will be pinacle content.
If you expect them to finish the story or to fix the insane amounts of bugs then don't get your hopes up.
Pinnacle content is not seasonal content.
New content is not seasonal content.
Seasonal content is seasonal content.
Just because the content comes in a "cycle" does not make it seasonal.
Yeah sadly i know. I have been playing for almost the whole beta period (on/off).
