Last Epoch -> good everything else
At the moment last epoch is having big issues with online connectivity so if you want to play online with others or trade items with others you will have to wait. you also cannot access cosmetics offline.
In my opinion, gameplay-wise, last epoch is better than diablo because it has more skill modifications, through the skill trees and unique items for each build, and a much better endgame than diablo2, diablo3 AND diablo4 combined. Also LE has a wonderful crafting system beyond anything diablo games offer (and i dare say will ever offer in the future).
a few more reasons LE is better than diablo:
-LOTS of free customizable stash space
-VERY GOOD LOOT FILTER SYSTEM
-Has fully offline functionality
-costs twice LESS than diablo4 (and even less if you include diablo battlepasses and expansions) while giving the player MORE content than diablo.
So if diablo4 was your first ARPG, you should definitely give this game a try after the server issues are fixed or offline. and if you wanna wait on it, I wanna recommend a game called "Grim Dawn" while you wait. it is a single-player diablo-like that is VERY good and is getting a third expansion.
D4 was very fun for the first 50 levels.. but then it was really boring.
D4 is 20 times better if you only care about playing alone.
You have actual room to grow and improve your build in D4 all the way until high levels (not lvl100s but at least 50+), as opposed to Last Epoch where your build is very much fully completed at precisely lvl50 and then you only have to tweak numbers and improve gear stats.
Not to mention that there's a lot more varied content in D4 on your way to lvl50-ish compared to Last Epoch.
D4 end-game activity is about as mind-boggingly dumb as Last Epoch's, but still much more varied (with seasonal activity and even base game variety) than LE. So you still likely to get more hours out of it before getting utterly bored.
D4 has build-defining gear. LE has absolutely none of the gear that fundamentally affects your build. So D4 offers your some meaningful treasure-hunting while in LE it's only a grindfest for slightly bigger numbers.
D4 has MANY times better visual fidelity than LE. You can get some hours of entertainment solely from dressing up your characters and making them look pretty. In LE, your characters are just always ugly all the time - with basic gear, with unique gear, or with cosmetic items, it doesn't matter.
D4 tries hard to present you with some challenges that require a bit of thought to overcome, be it bosses, world events, and so on. LE offers you precisely one kind of challenge: enemies that oneshot you if they touch you with their attacks if you aren't tough enough (or even if you are).
You want a more in-depth game while still easy to understand made by people who love the genre and don't take issue with less production value(graphics, voice acting, cut scenes)? Last Epoch
You want to play the without doubt best of the genre with insanely complex mechanics and years of content? Try Path of Exile. Its free. Due to the steep learning curve you have to be ready to spend dozens of hours till you even have fun and even after 1000h you still will be feeling as you don't really unterstand everything.
I play a lot of games, I don't need to compare them I just play games I enjoy and can enjoy multiple games from the same genre.
Compairing both shows you are not going to invest time in the game, D4 has nice graphics, nice story and this will be enough for you to have fun, its shiny and fairly edgy
LE doesnt have such cool graphs or story so you wouldnt like what the game has thats cool, just go play D4, its fun story
