Grim dawn has it and works great. I couldn't give 2 f less abour seeing other people for no other reason than their cosmetics. I just want to play here.

If you just want to play, start the game from steam library and choose offline, or choose online to start up, but while in the game choose offline.

As you said "I just want to play here".

If you want co-op too, then yeah P2P would be the way to go, plus having access to your own save files, instead of being on some server.
