I mean honestly that's what this game was shooting for. More complexity than D4 but less complexity than POE. Mechanics designed to scam the player out of their money aside i think most of these things are a matter of personal preference rather you will like them or not. Yes, i played the D4 open betas, and was not even remotely impressed.

Once the servers are in order for this game, people will be able to more accurately judge this title and the reviews will probably be more favorable as the stress levels subside.

It's not totally unexpected and yes people do get rather unruely and it being launch week woes is no excuse i agree, but it's not totally unexpected for an online game.

Agree, to have a decent QoL and really play the end game PoE not free - prolly $30-40 if you stash tabs on sale. But at least you can fairly (freely) evaluate before you put any money in it.

You don't need to spend $100s as streamers do - they build un-necessary hype.

And if you want cosmetics - for any game - sky is the limit.

I don't play PoE personally, 'cause ♥♥♥♥ that massive tree of pretend-choice, but a bunch of friends do and if there's one thing they agree on it's that it's unplayable F2P past ~first week. It's hardly super expensive, but expect to pay at least $60ish. F2P is essentially the trial version.

Thank you for your opinion sir, based on your 300+ hrs. I am sure other who have 3000+ hrs over the last 10 years might have a different one. And with PoE2 around the corner many core mechnics will change.

in any case, PoE2 will be free to play, until you decide if you want to spend any $ or not. So I am guessing that GGG will have a LOT more on the line to make sure that PoE2 works and servers are up from day one? So more likely then not ... they will.

Most of those things on that list are objective facts about POE. The crafting in LE is more straightforward, POE does use the ID scroll mechanic which makes it's loot more cumbersome to manage, there is limited stash space in POE unless you pay for more and POE does lack a loot filter and useable in game trading mechanics. Now it is an opinion which one of those you prefer. As someone with roughly 700ish hours in POE i have to say i'm digging LE setup more right now.

I think they all bring something valuable too the table. Except for D4. Only thing of value that brought too the table is more eyes on the ARPG genre that a small percentage of will hopefully go on to support games with an actual soul.

You arent qualified to have an opinion. I will say I hate how the drops in PoE are designed around the existance of trading. The loot sucks, and you spend hours playing economy simulator and playing in terms of divines per hour.
But if you havnt even played it for an hour ... shut up, seriously.
