How to defend against poison?
I just tried to complete the first Arena, lvl 40 one on a lvl 64 character. I need to unlock the next ones for a prophecy, so I didn't pick any crazy mods and got to the boss with like ~80% bonus damage.

I have capped Poison res (all res actually), 1000 HP, fully invested Liquid Iron that reduces DoT dmg by 15% and 30% after using potion. Also 2700 armor, but it doesn't work on DoTs, just makes sure I'm not getting direct damage from the boss.

The Boss is only lvl 40.

I died in 3 seconds and I lived a second more only because I popped a potion.

I do not understand what am I supposed to do? Boss teleports all over the arena every 0.25 seconds, he's attacks are unavoidable and instantly put 6 poison stacks on you. And 6 poison stacks instantly melt your character with capped res and additional layers of protection.

In fact, poison from enemies is extremely common and it always melts your character almost instantly. Before, when I encountered this problem in the campaign, I shrugged it off, because I didn't have poison res capped, maybe my HP was a bit low or something. But here, melted in seconds by a lvl 40 boss, when I took every possible defense measure againt the poison? That just doesn't seem balanced at all.

I get less damage from some heavy bleeds in PoE when I'm running at mach 5 and there's multitude of ways to deal with both bleed and poison.

So am I missing something? Enemy DoTs in general deal some ridiculous damage and I don't see how can I deal with them outside of capping res.

One of the effects of Poison is that it shreds poison resistance.

So the more poison you receive, the less poison resistance you have.

For that purpose, going above the resistance cap can be useful.

That doesn't sound balanced at all, considering how common and numerous enemies inflicting poision are, compared to bleed or ignite. And bleed needs additional effects to shred or ignore phys res on top of phys res being a much more universal stat, almost everything hits you with some phys.

The base poison damage is lower than the base bleed damage to compensate.
