Help me understand
Hello.
I was considering buying the game so I watched some streamers on Twitch to see what its like.
I must point out that almost every time I fell asleep while doing it, zero challenge, zero interest, it just looks like a game designed for 6 year old in terms of difficulty.
Why does it matter how do you build your character if everything dies in 1 click?
Why does it matter what equipment you use? Which ability will you choose? what mechanics the mob has?
It all seems meaningless when you one shot everything.
I don't expect a game to be super hard, but I don't expect it to be super easy either.
I understand that for many people it gives a good feeling that they are "good at the game" when they kill everything in 1 second, but it's an illusion - it's not that you're good, the game is just awfully easy.
So what am I missing? Besides the fake psychological satisfaction that you seem to be good, what else attracts so many people to this game?

sounds like you have zero real life challenges so you trying to give your life some kinda sense for beating challenges in a game. this is super sad tbh

As I understand it, the difficulty simply comes very late in the game.

So if you don't enjoy leveling up and blowing enemies away beforehand, you'll probably do it to reach the above-mentioned point in the game.

oh trust me late game it ramps up. also there are leader boards to prove your the best thats the challange to prove your build rules. if thats a template build u find online or your sweat blood and tears making ur own.

the satisfaction for me is trade and doing my own build comparing them to others on the leader boards, but right now the biggest problem is the servers issues.

most of the streamers are playing meta builds that are strong , even with them late game with corruption etc requires min maxing stats anyway , so if you want to have some sort of challenge try to make your own build without any guides etc, its always same in arpgs, there always meta builds that are strong af

The challenge is in making your own build, and pushing the power to the limits by attempting higher endgame content.

People on twitch generally have a good idea of what they are doing and the game looks easy because they have put the effort into making it easy. ARPGs are not about challenging yourself in skill based battles, they are about creating a strong build with the right gear and using that to kill many thousands of enemies. The gameplay is in the character building more than in the fighting.

That said the game has endless scaling and will eventually reach a point where it is impossible for you to progress. A lot of streamers play on HC and avoid dangerous content so they don't die and lose everything, but if you want to you are free to push as hard as you can until you near that wall and find your difficult challenge there.

Bro do you not play ARPGs?
Franxx Feb 24, 2024 @ 6:19am
i tried to do my own build marksmen, i got demolished on lvl 30 zones, after a while i gave up and looked on the leaderboard what people are playing and leveled an alt and having fun now. and for sure i will try to push on the leaderboard.

if you think its easy with no challenge you should make your own build and go HC or even SC and we will see you on the leaderboard right ? and some elites cast dozen of spells at one time Exiles they call them. and arena bosses can be tough.

It's an arpg normal mobs melt, magic, rare mobs are a bit more tanky and bosses have mechanics
The campaign is the tutorial, hc mode is there , you have 1 life
The challenge in arpgs are the endgame bosses, Path of exile has the pinnacle bosses then uber bosses

If you find this type of game easy try Path of exile ,there are races with real money prizes
Ben_ on twitch is the best arpg player , he won the latest Poe hcssf race by a mile and won like 10k $ or something, I'm impressed every time I watch him play

I did, im an old gamer (Sadge) Here from D1 days.

Thanks for the answers guys, I'm gonna wait a bit to see how the "end game" looks like and if its getting any better.

I just played through the campaign and I felt like the challenge level was fine? It really ramps up after that, but I did die a few times going through it. The difficulty is balanced for you to have room to play around and experiment with different builds in the campaign.

if you look up a build online and just follow it the game is probably going to be "too easy" because someone did the optimization/hard part for you. Thats every ARPG though. I'm purposely not looking up guides/outside info unless I really get hardstuck.

I think a lot of streamers are going to try to push to the endgame asap (thus use an already planned out/optimized build) because more viewers are likely to click "RUNNING 400+ CORRUPTION" then "Almost done with act 2".

Once you hit the endgame which really doesn't take that long maybe 5-10 hours? Then the difficulty really starts ramping up and your kinda thrown together build is going to start showing cracks where you are most likely going to have to change stuff around to better optimize it.

Then once you beat "endgame" there is basically "endgame+" where things get realllly crazy (and pretty much infinitely scale).

yeah sure, dw about the rude comments.
there is currently monolith its like maps in PoE and there is Arena and other endgame stuff like progress the faction and some keys for sanctum or dungeons ,Also they are working on uber bosses next.

It's a diabloid. The whole genre is one glorified statcheck, where soild half of gameplay is crunching numbers to oneshot even harder.

Take it or leave it.
Normal mobs in any ARPG are supposed to die easily.
CaOtIcOs Feb 24, 2024 @ 6:50am
it is not that easy, it is harder than D4 LOL.

The game is good, but the servers right now, are worse than thrash
