Last Epoch - Grim Dawn
I played Last Epoch for about 4-5 hours and somehow it's bland, there's no sense of progress, the maps are uninteresting, the items are uninteresting, I haven't come across any set items yet. The graphics are really top-notch, but compared to Grim Dawn, Grim Dawn is several levels above. Grim Dawn has a lot more implemented details, like the game mechanics itself, or combat. In Last Epoch, enemies just lay down after being killed, or they only have one such animation, Grim Dawn has more animations, pure gorefest, when you're overpowered and a zombie explodes, perfection. If we compare just the ring from Last Epoch and Grim Dawn, a ring item has around 7-12 statistics, while in Last Epoch maybe 1-4 statistics. So far, in my opinion, Titan Quest and Grim Dawn are much more detailed and hold the top spot in terms of playability compared to other similar games like Wolcen, etc.

A few hours ago I reinstalled grim dawn, now im just taking a bit of a break. It is as good as it was each time I came back to play it. I swear if they just remade Grim Dawn today, it would kill it in the modern ARPG market, easily overshadowing what we have now.
poe?

Bruh,.. no need for offending me, Grim Dawn is really more detailed, no matter how much you love Last Epoch, i dont know if you tried Grim Dawn or not, but it's better in a lot of ways, camera, more interesting items, more satisfied combat mechanics, tons of different animations regarding items, glowing and so on, tons of animations regarding enemy dying. And better sense of progress, try it.

I like Grim Dawn too, got 600+ hours on it. But I would say LE is better tho, I mean all the skills in LE are customizable to your liking. At the end of the day, Grim dawn build is all about converting all damage to one type and stacking resist reduction lol. Don't get me wrong, its still a good game, but come on LE clearly wins in terms of building your character skills. Even the unique items and set items in LE changes how some of the skills work while the unique and set items in Grim dawn just give boost to damage. This review is so ingenuine.

I recently played the Reign of Terror mod for grim dawn. Basically a 100% port of Diablo 1 & 2. I spend about 200 hours on that. Now im playing with the D3 class mod which gave me another 150h.
Im almost at 600 hours and im still not sick of it.
I cant say i enjoyed anything but Diablo 3 as much as grim dawn.

I totally agree with everything OP said.

Do not slander Grim Dawn by saying that someone who enjoyes GD is fit for D4.

As someone who played A LOT the feel of GD and LE is completely different. Yes, they both ARPGs, but they are different enough to be 2 different experiences all together.

Like somebody mentioned, le world feels dead, sense of progression is better in Grim Dawn. LE, less overall animation, less statistics in items, no sense of progression, health bar of enemies is just jpeg moving from right to left. :)

You do know that GD is still in active development. The third full fledged expansion is due Q1 (or was it Q2; not certain anymore) this year. And AoM and FG were both a blast. Yes, I totally agree. If it would be technically renewed to modern day standards it would most likely blow any other current ARPG game off the desk. Yet even with its aged engine and technical limitations it is a pretty amazing game nonetheless. I have sunk many hundred hours into it and will continue to do so once the new expansion is out. The range of possibilities can certainly compare to PoEs complexity. All it lacks comes from a technical viewpoint. Art, gameplay, complexity, it all is top notch.

I hated grim dawn when i tried it. Actually, it is one of the worst in my opition.

Theres also a 4k mod that tackles almost every texture in grim dawn.
So the 8 year old game doesnt look as "bland" anymore.
Really recommend that one.
I like Grim Dawn, but on balance I think I prefer Last Epoch. I love the mini-skill-trees for every skill.
