Bazaar - cannot set favor cost? No explanation anywhere.

I see items for 50.000 gold and ~ 10960 favor, same item for 50.000 gold and 1296 favor. How does this work? When I list an item, I can only set gold as a variable, not the favor cost.

Also it charges me the favor upon listing the item, which I never get back.

So how can this one guy list the item for almost 11K favor while the other only paid the listing price 1296 and gets no favor in return?

The favor cost is determined by the game, you can only set how how much gold you're selling for. Also this favor cost is like a tax on you from the bazaar to list your item.
The other cost you're seeing after listing is what the buyer pays the bazaar as well, meaning you don't get favor from selling an item.

Why do people list items for zero gold then? I don't see the benefit.

I don't know why someone would do that; you're right, they would get nothing for it.

I really don't know what they're trying to achieve with their trading system... It's just, eh. To much of a hassle just to get 10-or-something percent stronger...

We get faction rep for each trade, right? Maybe that is why some people list the items for 0 gold?

maybe they wanna give out free gear, they still get rep for placing it in the market
