Acolytes Spirit Plague will not hit any of the scorpions in the game

they're arachnids but this is a (literal) bug involving a bug

I have reported this but I wanted to get some more visibility, but there's something going on with the z axis and this spell 'hits' well above the creature, i assume above the tail, and it does no damage to them. I've tried force clicking near them and it kinda auto targets and does the same thing. It's pretty annoying there's way more scorpions than you'd think. Luckily my golem can kill them usually or wandering spirits but it's annoying that my main right click ability that stacks and spreads while being spammable can't hit the numerous bugs throughout the game.
