Does this game support DLSS 3? ( frame generation )
Diablo 4 does, so i am willing to give this game a try but NOT if DLSS is not supported.
Anyone?
And also if i like Diablo 4 what does this game do better besides having lots of more classes to choose from?

No it doesn't, it's using an old version of Unity that doesn't support modern upscaling.
They'll probably update the engine before porting it to consoles since it's a requirement then, at that point DLSS could be a possibility, but it's at least a year away.

You're basing your purchase of a game on technology that is newer than the game's inception? [2019]
this game has skill trees, not skill twigs, as a reviewer on the Steam store puts it.

Everything about this game is better than Diablo, and you don't need this fake technology for generating excessive FPS that aren't required in the first place.

Reason DLSS could be required:
"After analyzing two images from a game back-to-back, DLSS 3 uses this information to insert an extra AI-created frame that does not have to be rendered by the game itself. This result is in even higher frame rates than standard DLSS 2. It can also help dramatically increase the smoothness in CPU bottlenecked games.11 Jul 2023"

This game doesn't bottleneck a GTX 1070 and i5 10400f, 32GB RAM, proper paging file, Windows 11, or 10
But it doesn't support vulkan anymore... that's a real loss...

Why is it a must-have for DLSS 3? As long as the game runs smooth with 60FPS+, what does it matter?

For what the game does better, that's a personal thing I feel.
For me, the main things are:
The choices feel more meaningful, the item stats make more sense and your choices feel better, the amount of different builds you can do even within one single class is vastly more than D4, the endgame feels more fleshed-out and more interesting. The idea that every skill has its own skilltree is great, crafting is amazingly done.
The ingame lootfilter is just about perfect, easy to use and quickly to build a simple one that increases your QoL enormously, and you can finetune it in amazing detail if you want.
The droprates feel good as well.

OP's PC probably does not run the game on base specs without help

"GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs
DLSS 3 is only available on Nvidia's latest Ada Lovelace architecture, thus it can only work on GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs.11 Sept 20"

....

Huh, cool,
But then what is the point really?
A 4k card should easily run Last Epoch with absolutely no hiccups, the tech would just add additional strain to run with absolutely no notable effects on performance
Terra Feb 23, 2024 @ 3:24am
no but is supports amd frame generation
Mr. Apples Feb 23, 2024 @ 3:28am
I don't get frame-gen. Why would you want higher fps when you don't get the main benefit - more responsive, lower latency gameplay? Sheesh, lower some settings or buy a better GPU. That's the actual solution. Just smoke and mirrors so Nvidia can sell you less card for more money.

The point is, if you have ANY 40-series Nvidia GPU, you do NOT require this technology in the game to play it, or decide your purchase on... :? can't you match 1:1 ?

I get no less than 100fps with a 3090 and 7900x at 5120x1440 resolution with max settings so DLSS isn't really necessary especially for this type of game.
i don't think OP understands what DLSS actually does, other that "it's new tech and therefore i need it"
f.meussen Feb 23, 2024 @ 5:51am
i exactly know what it does and how it works ( i am a it programmer myself ), frame generation is sometimes the difference between a nice playable smooth game and a hickup fest and low fps . ( Avatar someone? , Cyberpunk someone ? Starfield someone?)
Some titles dont need it , thats true but games are always smoother when used. For me it is mostly 40fps more with frame generation available and used

Also frame generation haters out there, dont be jealous if you cant afford a new 4 series card , frame generation is the future not a fancy gimmick. ( AI based and AI is the future )
So i think also that Unity top priority should be to include FG and DLSS 3 in their engine. ( and the corresponding AMD techs )

Also , the upcoming Switch 2 ( Nintendo ) also gonna use frame generation, so again get used to it, it is the future. ( especially for consoles )
