Solo player only - any reason not to play offline?
I'd like to start playing while online play isn't available, but I'd rather not have to start over later because I didn't know about some feature that's online only... so is there anything like that?

Only difference is no trading and no leaderboards.

I'm a solo player as well. Playing offline doesn't miss much except you can't trade and can't join Bazarr Faction. Other than that, everything is great. You don't have to suffer from waiting to load into the game or wait for the scene to load. It plays very smoothly.

There's no MTX offline, including no preorder bonuses or "apology gifts."

Offline is better because of zero lag and quick loading times. If you don't care about auction trading and leaderbords.

If I'm not mistaken, you won't get the faction bonuses that reward playing solo...which are substantial. However, those bonuses are irrelevant if you can't even play in the first place.

Anything new and cool will not happen offline as long as there is an online version available in any game imo.

Honest itemization without cheats.

Again, there is no difference in THIS game except trading or leaderboards.
You even have the cycle content.

So how do you know that 'new and cool stuff' wont be included in THIS offline version?

If you don't care about trade then might as well play offline

Are there any cosmetics in offline mode?
Moreover, it makes sense that any seasonal mechanics will not work in offline.

However, all the above are assumptions on my part based on what I have seen in other arpgs and, since LE is heavily based on other arpgs, I can only assume that's what is going to happen here.

This season, not much. No trading, no leaderboards, and no Merchants Guild ... all for pretty straightforward reasons. Play offline, join the Circle of Fortune, and enjoy the solo experience.

You'll miss out on the "D4 sucks/D4 is better" argument in chat that seemingly never ends.

The Merchants Guild has NPC vendors unless its just straight up disabled offline

There is no reason not to play this game offline. The very first thing you should do is disable chat when you start the game.
