The reasonable thing is to wait till issues are fixed before buying. And recommending it just because you like the game is weird. I like this game and still cannot recommend it. Let's be a little more responsible as consumers, instead of throwing money to the hype machine.
nevertheless, unlike 99% of all other online games, this has a full function offline mode. And to be honest, most ARPG players play solo on their characters most of the time.
Sure a lot play with friends or group up with randoms, or want to trade. But still, the game works great despite one single aspect, the character transitioning from server cluster to server cluster.
For a game that isn't even playable at launch I could agree on that, but that is not the case here. You can play the game in full.
IN any other ARPG with launch issues, and I think none of the online ARPGs last 20 years started smoothly, all players was crying, give us offline mode at least.
Now players got their offline mode, can play, and still complain like little babies...sorry to say. But it's the truth
The problem is that there are very few (if any) live-service games with both online and offline modes. And it is very hard to decide what a "FULL" game is in this case. For me personally offline mode in LE = Full game, because I play SSF. However, I like to read chat sometimes. I think the devs should somehow change the description of the game so that customers are able to understand what they are buying.
Also, they are not exclusive in any case. That's mixing nukes with apples.
No other game community I have ever been in the last 25 years was more stupid with its fanboyism.
Zealots?
We've been pointing out the *very* same issues that *still* plague this game to this day, for years now. But we're "zealots" and the "negative vocal minority" because we vocalize what everyone else chooses to turn a blind eye to?
The server issues that are still persistent in this moment are a symptom of people sitting here and defending these developers and telling them "don't listen to the loud negative haters, the game is great!". Mind you, the server issues are NOT a new problem that came about when they had a mass influx of players. This game was barely able to handle a few thousand people playing online at it's peak before 1.0ish. Why are people *still* buying into the whole "give us a break, we're a small studio" excuse.
This is just one layer of the onion that will slowly peel back and reveal itself over time. This is what we as a gaming community get for coddling a mediocre game with mediocre devs by telling them "You're fiiiiiiiinnnneee keep doing what you're doing, it's awesome!" when the exact opposite is true.
Truth...
