The dev's description is accurate. What you are basically asking for is to turn the game into a twin-stick shooter.
The way this game is designed, it would be impossible to implement without having to balance the entire game around it which would be a massive turnoff for a lot of people. It's a pipe dream.
Playing like a casual / noob?
Gimping yourself with less agile and precise movements?
Pfff very sad, embarassing "flex"
Point and click must stay in D2 era.
Not being able to handle the more accurate control mechanism is definitively a "you" problem.
