Wasd Vs Point to Click movement
Wasd feels smooth and responsive and most importantly natural and therefore awesome.
Point-to-click movement is clunky, disjointed and most importantly disconnected from your character.
How the hell did they not add wasd movement before 1.0...

It's ridiculous, they wont add it because people who prefer point to click might be obligated to use WASD because it's better. Literally pandering to man children whose last happy memory was playing D2 as a child and are unable to move on.

I'm sorry to say that we recently debated adding this in a game design meeting. We are intentionally not adding WASD movement to Last Epoch at this time.

The primary method of control for the game links your targeting and movement positions to the same point, your mouse cursor. If we include WASD movement then you can move left and shoot right at the same time. Now you might just be thinking, "yea, that's what I want". It's a not insignificant advantage. Suddenly the way you have to play is with WASD movement if you want to be competitive. This is a deal breaker for us.

You can always re-map W to force move or migrate to a controller. Too many folks with lack of imagination.

The dev's description is accurate. What you are basically asking for is to turn the game into a twin-stick shooter.

Yeah I play a mix of controller and keyboard. Keyboard for menus, controller for gameplay. Works great. Still not as good as Grim Dawn but what is?

many players continue to play with the controller in FPS (competitive) while it is accepted that a keyboard mouse is more suitable... so leaving the choice of keyboard or mouse movement on a PVE game, no one is will feel “obligated”. D4 has just added the option, POE2 has also announced this option, in short you just have to live with the times and improve your gameplay with the present tools

The way this game is designed, it would be impossible to implement without having to balance the entire game around it which would be a massive turnoff for a lot of people. It's a pipe dream.

Or because the game was balanced around it and something like that would take months of re-balancing to account for increased mobility/targeting damaging the endgame? Dog Brain

Controller is the real way. But to your point, there's no reason they couldn't have both point to click and wasd as options if they wanted to. Here's hoping, so everyone can play their preferred way.

I would love wasd or at least a roll button

Controller is the real way of what?
Playing like a casual / noob?
Gimping yourself with less agile and precise movements?
Pfff very sad, embarassing "flex"

Oh, yeah, automatical pathfiding what drag your character into unexpected dirrection if you touch by cursor something where character can't walk - it's better.

Point and click must stay in D2 era.

Not being able to handle the more accurate control mechanism is definitively a "you" problem.
