Offline mode is great and all
But unfortunately, there is a problem with the game company when you have ~200 people working on a game, and your servers are not 95% cloud-based, at minimum.

Nice try. A month of server capacity won't cost $35 million, though.

And they are not efficiently usung their FTE budget as it is. So just outsource like everyone else. And everyone else is doing it because it's affordable.

Also, if I buy a leather belt and say it sucks, nobody comes out and days, "Well, until you slaughter your own cows and measure your own tanned leather..." You know why nobody does that crap? Because unlike the gaming community, everyone in the belt-wearing community seems to understand that there is a seller-consumer contract of getting the product you paid for, and they don't try to twist it into something that it's not.

You heard our senior infrastructure engineer, guys. Just spin up a few more pods and the problem will surely go away.
