Pets pickup?

Good morning. I was asking about pets and picking up gold/mats for us. I thought the preorder pet description said something about it loving gold alot or something like that. I thought, and I did not research it really, but I did check with the search function on steam discussion at least, that the pet would pickup gold at least for you like the diablo 3 pet did?
Is that an option at all? I personally enjoyed that before. Anyway, thanks for answering in advance.
