How does multiplayer work?

Hi all, the wife and I are considering buying the game but couldn't figure out from the store page whether the co-op is whole-game or just in certain areas. Would we be able to team up as a duo and play through the whole game just us, or is multiplayer more of a by-dungeon match-making system? Thanks :)

YOu can co-op the whole game like e.g. in PoE.

If you haven't bought the game yet, I would recommend you to wait until the sever situation is fixed. While the game itself seems great, the server issues ruin much of the online experience.
