Got too sleepy and misunderstood the respec system

Respecced early as I mistook "respeccing a node" to be -1 level, and it's -1 level per point respecced

And sure while accelerated for one level the setback is enough time lost that catching up on a new toon would be pretty much the same.

Couldn't imagine wasting time on changing subclasses in late game though lol

You lose a level for respeccing ? You mean on individual skills ?

Yes you lose a level on the specialized skill

You get accelerated xp gain when regaining the skill xp. People be making a bigger deal out of it than it is. Takes 10 minutes tops to regain.

Yeah, I don't like it either. It really limits you on building the character you want and forcing you to either start a new character or suffer for the next couple of levels. For a game talking about so many skill builds and stuff they sure do like to limit you on what you do. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Fun game still but things still need improvement.

not really, if it's only 3 points you're early game so it's not a huge deal. You also get accelerated level ups now, so it will be back up to the other skills in a level or 2

Kinda depends on how you look how the points would be balanced, sure there's some early nodes that give up to +30% damage and further nodes just change the application of a skill, but early enough it's a long time to be missing out on tens of dmg% bonuses.

Though yeah making the mistake made me not interested in testing out the neat sounding skill "morphs" and just sticking with a singular plan from now on.

Not really. You fairly quickly reach a point where your skills hit a level cap and you don't get any skill xp before you get a higher character level. During this time your low level skills quickly catch up to your maxed out skills. On my current char I switched out all my skills once I got my subclass, and the skill I got at level 35 (which I had to start from level 5) was max level by the time I was 39.
