Cycle vs Legacy?
I'm having trouble finding a concrete answer on this, So maybe someone can shed some light on it.

As someone who doesn't care about leaderboards or a fresh economy, and detests making a new character every 3-4 months, is there ANY reason for me to make a Cycle 1 character?

I'm seeing people saying that all the "new" content: Items, factions, subclasses, enemies, etc. are all cycle-exclusive content, and I need to make a new cycle character to experience any of it.

Then I'm seeing people saying the opposite. That for Cycle 1, there is no difference between Cycle and Legacy. (Outside Leaderboards and Economy) And that all the new content is effectively, the final addition to the base game, technically making it "new" Legacy content.

Not yet, the first cycle introduced with 1.0 brings in the trading system.

In the future things will likely change though.

So then, if I want to trade, I have to make a cycle character?

Exactly this.

Yes, and then ideally join the Merchant Faction in game.

Now I'm confused. So, then there IS a difference. The factions alone are Cycle exclusive?

Trade guild its not worth it, trading guild system is far less worth than the other one wich can be used in offline play, legacy etc. bcs tons of % drop chance to your character for each item category. Right now u can stick with legacy and in next season try out cycle. For first season right now its same with content.

Pretty sure factions are also in legacy, If you run offline characters then cycle 1/legacy doesn't matter at all.

Trust me trading will take a while to balance between those two factions, right now its better observatory one with high percents of drop rate ...wich makes you literally swim in items what u need instead of have unlocked some variants of gear to buy wich u will need grind out for golds and if you will craft a little bit it will be expensive as f

There are more options under the type of Solo you take , deciding whether or not you'll be able to trade or not,
