Have you found a way to play ranged characters? I can't for the life of me figure out how you're supposed to aim. There's an auto-target thing but it targets in the direction you're moving so if you want to move anywhere away from the enemy, you're going to fire backwards as well. Anything but pure melee is basically unplayable for me.
Some oddities is that dpad in the skills menu works like the RB and LB. You have to use the analog stick to move along those skills. You also have to hold down the back/menu button to pull upen a radial wheel, navigate it with the right stick, then let go of the back/menu button to confirm selection. Also seemingly can't assign controls to anything but the controls they granted to controllers. IE you can edit what button is used for Skill 4 but not for Open Inventory since that's not an assigned input by default.
I can't speak for how it compares to POE but D4 controlled easier for me when on a controller.
If using Steam Deck, I'd recommend having right and/or left Trackpad as mouse with press in being a left mouse click. Maybe assign some back buttons to being quick-accesses. With that, you should be good to go. It is serviceable without doing anything of that, it's just slow moving the dpad cursor one block at a time in menus and stuff. The mouse makes it easier.
Again, I think it'll do by default, with some quirks. It'll work better if you are playing on Deck but regular controller will work, if taking a little longer to get doing things.
proton experimental and native linux version work.
normal steam deck with cryo utilities but played older patches without it.
only issue i had in older versions where constant crashes every hour or so, with a full reboot.
When this happens (not just in Last Epoch) Instead of using the ingame remapping, use the Steam OS level controller remapping.
What does the right stick do by the way?
I guess you also can't change this via Steam's controller mapping thing.
