Advantage in taking poison over Necrotic dmg??

So i recently started playing and got my lich at lvl 30.

I love the game overall, but i dislike the way you have to re-level abilities.
So i've been looking for builds already, so i can have skills ready for level 50:

I see alot of builds for turning your abilities into Poison, instead of Necrotic and im wondering why. Is it because there are more multipliers for it late-game?

Im ofcourse choosing Lich to play with Damage-over-time and life leech - And i love skills like reaper form and wandering spirits.
(I actually like drain life in other games, but i feel its abit awkward in Epoch)

Any tips you can give my way to improve my build path is very welcome, thanks :)

Poison scales with DOT, poison and general damage boosts but the real major boost for it is this it reduces poison resist per stack (2% vs bosses and 5% version normal mobs).

As such if you are a poison stacking build you can do crazy damage.

I strongly suspect poison usually is more DPS, the downside is that things don't die instantly, so you are more exposed to enemy damage while poison does its thing (even if it's less than a second).
