Man, these major bosses really aren't fun...
Both major "God" bosses are such a needless chore...
Both imho way too overpowered for how long their fights are, being easily able to one shot you if you just happen to slip up even once.
By a wide margain my least favorite part of the game.

Setup and presentation are great, but actually fighting them is incredibly tedious and boring.

EDIT:
Thanks a bunch for everyone's input. Much appreciated.
But we're on page three and it's clear that more and more people aren't even reading the post / thread anymore which is more annoying than anything else.
So consider the topic *closed* as far as i'm concerned. This has consumed enough time now :D

Speaking of one shotting: I'm pretty sure my Mage > Sorcerer can't survive phase two of the Majasa fight. Her melee attack kills me instantly and she's faster than my teleport cooldown.
So GG. Sank an hour into that fight alone.

My Sentinel > Forge Guard had absolutely no issues whatsoever.

If you're having more success with your forge guard sentinel then perhaps you've found your perfect class for your playstyle. Maybe think about what can you do for your sorcerer to make them quicker on the battlefield to get out of the way of the melee attacks of Majasa. stack up on haste maybe? could work.

Whats your characters stats and level?
Can you maybe make a screenshot of your character sheet so we can see where the problem is.

Ah wait till you get to heorot in monos.. he is probably the worst of them all. There are some okay bosses tho. I actually like Lagon.. and some of the mono bosses.

Probably a stat/gear, resist issue

Ward is great but dead w/o it. You gotta stack a lot of ward like dodge for rogue to really make it work

Sentinel especially pally and FG both get really good base defense. Access to lots of armor, resist and HP/HP% and so on. VK is good also but you give up some for more damage

i struggled as well on my first 2 chars, now i play hc and clear them always first try. its a skill issue and not understanding mechanics/stats/bosses

Yeah I know how you feel. The bosses ruined this game for me. It was easier to take on the endgame content than it was to fight the mid game boss Lagon. A two handed Sentinel needs a target in range to Lunge as their traverse ability, I ended up having to use rebuke instead for boss fights where you need to get out of the kill zone instead.

Those resist caps and random super crits also suck big time. Once you start the endgame content or arena content you'll randomly encounter normal enemies that will 1 shot you regardless of your resist, hp and endurance. I even tried respec'ing all my passive points into hp, amour and damage reduction and it makes zero difference, this just should not be happening with over 2200 hp, almost 4000 armour and 75% in everything but necrotic (71%).

Sure, if "Boss dashes towards me, i'm dead" is a skill, then yes, it's a skill issue.
I'm well aware of the fight and its mechanics. It's not my first time through.
I'm not talking about the tail swipe, the petrifying gaze, the blood explosion.
But there's little mechanical finesse in a homing dash melee hit.

the homing dash melee is legit the worst.

if people "fail" on the other attacks, then i would say skill/stat issue. But there is no way to avoid the dash melee, on my druid I legit just had to tank it with enough leech and hp regen to outheal it.

My warlocks and mage can just normaly walk out of the melee attacks of malajsa and i dont get a single hit in. The tail swipe you have to teleport.

Lagon is mechanically perfectly fine but waaaaay too drawn out imho.
And same there, his laser is way too powerful for a fight that takes this long.
Stuff like that on a main story boss doesn't test your build but your patience.

fully agree. THe fight is just long as hell, but its not hard to avoid attacks and not getting hit.

Yup. Phase one in comparison is purely mechanical. Every move has a visual and audio tell,
And while the three magic stones are pretty difficult to deal with, they can be predictably lead. Phase one is a really good boss besides that i still say stuff like her spear throw are way too strong.
Phase two gets rid of most of her mechanics and it's just a stat check.
