Family Sharing turned off

So I just now got online and noticed family sharing was turned off. I used it on my own second account, but my progress is gone. Can we at least migrate the characters or smth?
This pretty much kills my progress for this cycle and I am not sure, if I am motivated to continue playing on a completely empty account..
I wish this was communicated from the start, then I would have played on the other account..

Yeah same issue here, they just turned it off without an explanation or reasoning.

Family Sharing worked fine before Beta and turning 1.0 launch.

Very shameful from the Devs to do this.

Same here, 30+ hours in have the game on my secondary account, if i could at least migrate the offline char

This feature enabled the use of significant RMT (Real Money Trading) and Botting options, and was removing our ability to ban/remove accounts, faster than they could share them with their entire networks. This resulted in a significant amount of spam, RMT abuse, Gold Selling, and Botting, all within less than two weeks.

I kinda expected that, makes sense since gold bots are running rampant. I dont care either way since I dont use family share features. That said. It's really a ♥♥♥♥ move that they didnt post that info here on steam.. where the feature works.

I see. Still I feel like they should try to preserve the progress of people, who just did not expect this. I already opened a support ticket and hope, that they can just transfer my characters over to my other account. Then it would be completely fine for me. Hope that is possible..

The progress is preserved. You just have to repurchase under the proper account.

I guess you played ingame with your own steam display name, right?

Thats the whole point because they say, it prevented them from banning abusive accounts, because they used steam accounts that didn't even purchased the game.

So your progress should be saved under your steam account on their servers, once you purchase the game, I guess you should be able to play your characters just fine.

Should have played it on the proper account. It's a live service game. None should be on family sharing for the purpose of scams and RMTers.

I find it funny that none of you thought about that common sense. It was bound to happen.
