yeah, yeah, i know: git gud. whatever. i still think the mechanics are crap.
For how rare keys are and for having not one guaranteed way of getting them, it pissed me off. What's even more crazy, is that it is apparently the way to "Skip" the campaign on Alts. How the hell is that a skip by locking it behind stupid 1-Shot bosses in a one death and done mechanic dungeon.
I agree with this. I love the game, but these mechanics need work. Steamrolling 99% of the dungeon without even thinking, then to get 1shot in an instant without even knowing or having a clue what's happening is just ...... dumb. There needs to be some middle ground, like for instance:
what if there were some medium difficulty elites before the boss that really challenged you, but didn't have any 1shots?
what if there were some of those monolith "survive x amount of waves" challenges that really see if your res' are up to par?
what if literally anything at all helped you understand and prepare NOT to get 1shotted?
I love almost all arpgs, but in almost every single case, unknown and inexplicable 1shots are the reason I stop playing. It's just not fun.
Not to defend the excessive aoe on 1shot boss abilities, those are stupid. But arbor is relatively easy at 23-25 with great items. Especially the insanely op unique shield with giant block chance. It is a viable way to skip ahead. Soulfire bastion not so much, it should be level 35-40 for that imo, and still requires way more specific gear.
One shot mechanics don't care about your defences, unless you like to flex on one-shot areas at lvl 50 with your lvl 100 char.
Stacking absurd amounts of ward is the only way, which will be redundant at higher corruptions.
Learn the fights in lower tier dungeons until you are familiar with the mechanics, make sure you actually learn to avoid dodging those mechanics properly. Then try the T4 version, If you fail... Then ask yourself these questions:
1. Is it a you issue?
2. Is my gear/build even good enough to clear this content?
