The Keeper Vault Quest Bug

I have just wasted like 5+ hours of my life trying to figure out ways to fix this quest whilst using controller and it turns out, this one npc is just bugged on controller only. If you click her with mouse and keyboard, she works perfectly fine. If you speak to the old man in the vault previously with controller, it works. But this woman outside called "keeper guard" is bugged and you cannot speak to her unless you use a mouse click. Please fix this. This is way too early on in the game to not have this fixed asap. I'll be 100s of people are currently at their wit's end on controller trying to figure this out.

There are forums online talking about this bug as far back as august 2023. Figure it out man holy hell. Make the npc work for controller.

Thank you, I was stuck and switching to desktop mode and using a mouse click solved it for me. Nothing else worked.

Playing on steam deck I had to touch the screen to make it work :( this happened on my second run

I think controller support was rushed. Some npcs work with controller, some don't. But at least for now, using mouse when you talk to an npc works

The controller inability to talk to certain quest targets was broken by one of the more recent patches. Use the in-game Report a Bug option, if enough people are reporting it maybe they will fix it faster.

Yep i've reported a couple instances ingame with the screenshot report. Fingers crossed it gets seen to asap, it's not fun constantly having to use mouse when im on controller haha

Thank you restarted three characters and thought the problem was that the drake never showed up, going to try this now.

I restarted a character too. It's crazy how much time can easily be wasted on this if the thought of using mouse doesn't occur to people. They really need to fix this asap

Thank you; I hope this works for mine. I'm unable to trigger the EotW "Talk to Gaspar" event, tho the portal is open back to the next area. I think this is cuz a party member talked to him and I didn't (which was fine for the previous 3 hours of gameplay & quests).

BTW folks who are using controller, if you set up a Desktop Config with Steam Chord buttons, you can emulate M&K with the controller. For mine, I set it to holding DS4's "Home" button (the Playstation logo) activates a secondary layout where my left stick is mouse and shoulder keys are mouse buttons.
