Increase Difficulty

Any way to increase the difficulty level? I have started the Monoliths, but everything is a bit too easy, I like the game but I would like to tackle more challenging content. I read about corruption levels somewhere, is this mechanic tied to finishing the Monoliths? Does the difficulty start to spike when you start corruption levels?

you need to beat standart monoes to gain access to empowered onces, let alone it is difficulty spike, however empowered monoes do not have limit of how many corruption you can increase on them, you start at 100, some builds are able to get to 500, party of people with best possible gear to 1000, so you have to sank your time at

What's HC? I didn't follow a build guide, just whatever felt good node/gear wise. Doing a leech Lich if that matter.

Ah, so it's standard Monoliths then Empowered then Corruption levels? And that's when things get real?

HC = one life and it's game over.

HC = hardcore mode you die you lose it all. Well it used to be that way. now you can carry on with the character.

Push empowered? I can seemingly only do the Fall of the Outcasts standard Monolith at the moment. I assume it's just a case of doing the standard ones, but ideally I'd just like to up the difficulty asap.

I'm already level 60, so I really don't want so start a new character for the moment, but it's definitely an idea for later thanks!

Complete all 10. Go to the center of the 3 lvl90 monos and click the crystal. That unlocks empowered. From there perker your booty cause one shots come quick. The best players push 400+ I generally have trouble over 200.... But that's a self skill issue.

Corruption starts with empowered monoliths. Move away from the starting point in an empowered monolith and clear a certain node to reset the layout and add corruption which makes things significantly harder. Repeat until you find the difficulty you like.

There's a secret room at the very beginning where you can get some magic boots that will make the game more difficult. They are called, "Cursed Veteran's Boots" ...
* 50% to 75% Less Damage from you.
* !00% to 200% More damage taken.
Location: the very first little cave (where you fight the big bear) ..just before leaving the cave...hit the rocks on the right...open a secret passage.

HC doesn't actually make the game harder. The problem with combat is that you almost never lose a battle to attrition due to tactics, strategy loadout. You spend msot of the game screenwiping the enemy and then you just get randomly deleted sometimes. Overcoming that is not a "challenge", it's just gaming the system against whatever thing killed you.
