In practise, I have no idea.
Anyone out there who has tested it? It would save me a lot of time to not have to respec and test this myself.
I'm not assuming anything when it comes to this. I mean, my Static right now hits for like 50k dmg and I would have to respec all skill points in order to just try if the increases to base crit applies to when you cast lightning blast yourself (essentially, I would try to make a rough estimate of how often lightning blast crits, then apply all points in Diode and see if that rough estimate gets significantly higher afterwards). It's just not worth the time and effort right now x'D
I also wonder now if the Diode node even gives added crit to the auto cast lightning blast, since it doesn't specify anywhere that it applies to anything but "Zap". Is it just 5 wasted points if you convert it to lightning blast?
