50+ hours down the drain. Was super enjoying the game, but it feels terrible having your time tossed out the window through no fault of your own.
Will probably uninstall if there isn't an update on whether data can be restored by sometime tomorrow. Definitely not a game I would recommend to a friend anymore if this sort of issue can even remotely happen.
If they don't fix this it will be a major stain on this game and I'll probably just quit.
The fact the "announcement" was in such a small spot not even visible is insane. Why wasn't there a giant pop up, a message at the character select screen, a message of the day type message upon loading a character.. ANYTHING.
I've had nothing but respect and support for them but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amateur hour.
Something like this happens you PULL THE SERVER DOWN and fix it or Roll Back.. now it's been what? 8 hours what the hell? I'm beyond pissed right now.
Try some reading comprehension.
Even in Hardcore you don't lose all your stash and currency.
Also I played SC with my friends that don't play SC. I played HC exclusively when solo.
wow your my hero playing HC when the servers are not stable, you took the risk.
The servers have been stable for days..
If you're talking about this specific issue there was no prominent notification.
There was no announcement that was even slightly visible about this issue. Such a major issue should have instantly called for a server shut down or a temp disable of HC characters to investigate. Meanwhile it's 8 hours later and still nothing has been done. This is absolutely a horrible decision.
There was no pop up in game, no message at character select, no in game "message of the day" type announcment even in chat.
Apparently there was a super small line of text at the top of the sever select / login screen that's barely visible.
I don't think you are understanding the issue.
They pushed out an update that effectively deleted the stash, gold, crafting shared / glyphs / blessings / circle of fortune progress from all of your NON hardcore characters.
I wasn't even playing on the character that was affected. I was playing on an alt hardcore character and died. That triggered the bug which reset all data across any and all of your regular characters.
Everyone affected has a right to be pissed. That sort of bug should never happen, and if it does there should be systems in place to allow for a restore of your data. Which it looks like there isn't, so we'll likely not get any of it back.
I expect server issues at a hyped ARPG launch, but losing progress like that is not something I'd accept.
If they had shut down the servers people couldn't have played on HC, thus no be able to die in HC, therefor not caused the SC Stash, etc to get deleted. Same thing if they had locked access to HC characters temporarily.
The biggest issue is how badly they communicated the problem to everyone.
I have stayed away from HC at launch because of D4, there it was being DC'D, here it was servers and bugs, i have visual bugs i can't get rid of, glad i thought twice about Hardcore for a while.
