Looking for tips and recommendations to make a working Ice Aura Spellblade build.

More specifically, a spellblade making use of the fire aura passive (converted to ice, ofc), and any other skills that give elemental auras, which can also be converted to ice. I was thinking of using chill and freeze for defensive utility, and frostbite as added damage. Since Manastrike's element cannot be converted (as far as i know, I dunno if a unique might do that; I'm new to LE), would Focus with ice conversion maybe work? (since Spellblade seems to be pretty mana-hungry in general).

I like the idea of a battle-mage just freezing everything around him, and then methodically dispatching anything that still manages to move.

Ideally, this build would become so good at freezing everything on screen and ward-gen, that It can eventually face-tank most things (again, I'm new to LE, and don't know if that is actually manageable or not). I don't really care about insane or even just high damage, but it would be a nice bonus. :-)

(I have looked at a few build guides, but so far I haven't seen anyone doing anything with the elemental auras at all)

When you spec into Spellblade mastery you get the Shatterstrike ability, which is a pretty good melee alternative to Flame Reave and has a much more comfortable area to use than Mana Strike and it can be perk'd to shoot ice missiles on top.
