Acolyte Lich no blood magic?
Ive been trying to wrap my head around lich for while now. I picked it because I wanted to play a blood mage yet it adds basically no benefits to blood magic. It basically is a Necrotic and Poison mage.

Why does reaper form have the ability to turn into a Cold when basically no abilities are cold?

Why does reaper form not have the ability to change into physical?

Why does reaper form have a random one off ability to heal minons and summon minions?

Why does reaper form scale of melee not spell? (when the only melee ability you have requires curses to be even remotely useful.)

The lich tree has both increases to bleed and a Physical, Necrotic, and Poison Pen abilities to.

Marrow shards should be a perfect ability for a lich but has almost no synergy due to it being only physical. Lowering your own hp and increasing its damage even has bleed and increased damage to bleeding and can even heal yourself with it.

Just in general it feels like I picked Lich to be a "an Acolyte who embraces the corruption of their power and uses the magic of blood and death even at the expense of their own health"

but instead got a knock off warlock "A master of forbidden arts, they tear into the essence of their foes, corrupting their spirits with relentless curses, necrotic magic and flames to burn their flesh."

Does it need some blood magic put into its kit?

Because, right now, Warlock is the selling point. It's new, broken and looks flashy. Many masteries need an overhaul and Lich is one of them. All you can do is hope for them to adress balance and bring masteries in line in terms of gameplay at some point.

The damage type of reaper form is mostly irrelevant compared to the health, buffs and mobility.

Lich has a ton of power and versatility in reaper form and death seal.

Reaper form is strong for every build.

Death seal is kinda ridiculous as long as you aren't a ward based lich.

You can kinda build a lot of directions because they're so generalist. Use aura of decay to shred armor and death seal to deal tons of AOE physical damage. Combo it with bone curse to do even more and harvest people

Use reaper to get a whole extra health bar for this and more crit chance and a physical lifesteal counterattack in blood bond.

There are options I think. Can't say they all work well (is death seal on minions ever useful?)

The only advantage I can see about making reap cold is to chill and freeze since it usually doesn't do much damage anyway - it scales pretty badly for a cooldown attack and that's IF you're using a melee weapon for reap and not a spell weapon for everything else.

I ended up getting a blood build to work, though only due to getting equipment that made my reaper form increase physical attacks. I ended up having to use the damage abilities from warlock though. I just feel like lich needs at least one physical ability or perk in its kit for being the "blood mage" it claims to be.
