Last Epoch

Why does the map reset constantly?
Why does this happen? I'm almost done with the whole area and then I'll be 300 feet from the entrances and warp there unexpectedly, only to return one second later and the whole map is covered over and reset. :shit::dohpoop::angrypoop:

Make this make sense to me so I can just buy a new monitor (after punching my fist through my old one) and get on with my life.

It's an early bug from the beta they couldn't fix and is now a feature and working as intended. They mentioned looking at it in the future when "load" wasn't an issue, but the mechanic existed as is throughout all the years of early access when the game was offline and there was no "load."

Because they said it was a bug and lied and said it would be fixed.

Then they lied and said people liked it that way.


My theory is either they literally cant fix it due to spaghetti code, or the fix would cause their already poor netcode to completely burn to the ground.

It was annoying my first run through, you cant town to dump inventory then return to pick up shiney as the instance resets.

once I got use to it, no biggie.

agreed, its odd to see initially.

Its still annoying because it resets when you go to a submap from a larger map, like a building. When you exit the larger map resets. Also bosses resetting.

it still feels like early access with the reseting map progress and all its contents lol, one can just spam teleport next to a big chest and loot it over and over

Also makes boss farming trivial. There are prophecies to kill the final campaign boss for some pretty chunky rewards, had one that repeated 8 times. So I just dropped a portal in the boss room, killed them, left and came back, killed them again, repeated a bunch of times. It's dumb as heck, but at least it does make some things easier. Any other competent game would require you to do an instance reset and run through the entire previous zone to fight the boss again.

It's probably a bug. If not it's very poor design because bosses reset. I struggled to kill Liath getting to Lagon and when I finally did I looted and ported to town to sell, ported back and she was respawned and the door to Lagon was closed again...So I had to suffer through her AGAIN.

before someone says to stop muling loot to town: it affects more than that

like being able to safely afk for a minute, or visit your stash, or accidentally zoning because how huge the clickable area is.

the devs themselves kind of gaslight us about it and only talk about the loot aspect

Anyone not being intentionally disingenuous knows the issues.

And yeah, zoning because you walked into the same screen as a zone boundary is super annoying.

This is why you kinda don't even need to go to town. Stop picking everything up. You get more value from shattering. And you get the gold just walking around.

Even if you dial in just on the loot issue, its not as simple as just tighten up your filter. MG and CoF have both expanded the type of loot you want to pick up, as well as the quantity respectively.

Anyone who says just ignore the loot is really typing out "I am in low corruption and low faction rank so this does not effect me".
