Respec or restart (a new char)

Made it to the fight with Architect Liath and I do no damage and I'm dying to the adds let alone her.

I think I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ build (Lvl. 54 Wardancer) and I want to reset. Found a build I want to try but I kinda need to reset most, if not all of my passive tree and I'm short a bunch of gold.

Not sure if I should
1) just completely restart a new character
2) grind the gold to afford a reset
3) just push through with the build I have. I think I read somewhere that it's cheaper/easier when you're, like 90+

Respeccing AFAIK becomes more expensive, but it's possible that the cost grows slower than the gain increases.

However, respeccing the skills is free, and with lvl 54 you can go to the first monolith and can focus on the Gold nodes there to farm up the missing gold.
But you probably need to change your lootfilter and farm up a different item set when you rebuild into an entirely different build, so I'd do that first in a region where your killspeed is still good. By the time you have a decent gear piece per slot you maybe automatically have the gold to respec passives as well.

Since you don't lose anything really, the lvl 54 is just a headstart compared to a completely new char, so I'd respec for sure.
