even if you push defences you have to know the game, the mobs and the patterns of bosses. As in other HC games there some knowledge-checks
But even if you do build like that, you're still always worried about death, ALWAYS. The mindset is totally different from SC. Even if you've built around res and health, boss attacks still chunk out a quarter/ half of your health, at minimum, and so in the back of your mind you're always thinking "that could have killed me if I was unlucky."
Well you could ssf-hc. Maybe they'll add masochist mode back just for those rare few who want the punishment or reward however you look at it
Imagine beating the campaign on HC without minions and without prior farming. If, with the meta HC build, the game is "normal" difficulty on HC, imagine what it would be like if you didn't have Cthonic and minions.
I totally agree with your opinion. "Easy ARPG" must be a brain dead game. Sometimes we're in a dangerous situation even thought gears and build are very solid. So we need to consistently check where enemy is and where we should move to.
By the way, I never play any minions after level 20 using my Warlock. There're tons of mechanics to reduce damage and gain Wards. Since Warlock is implemented at v.1.0, it might be much stronger than other classes. I've head that Falconer that's also released at v.1.0 is quite strong too. I'll check it!
You avoid all challenge and play super safe. It ruins all fun.
It's pretty damn easy, unfortunately so. I don't expect nor want it to be super hard or anything, but it's easy to the point of becoming a bit monotonous.
I don't think I"ve ever beat an ARPG campaign on the very first try like this before.
Started the endgame today, let's see if the difficulty ramps up.
you should start to see less forgiving boss mechanics once you clear echo quests, with more things you cant stand in on the ground. Nothing over the top imo
So play it on HC and beat the campaign, and show us your achievement.

Majasa was, appropriately, the hardest fight in the campaign for me. Her swipes in the second form gave me a bit of a scare, much more so than anything that Lagon did. Still, Health remained firmly above a third.
