You can't say the word "reproduction"? Is this where we're at now? I've been probing the edges finding out what is and isn't acceptable, trying to find the boundaries. I encourage everyone else to as well, as there's some draconian limitations but a lot of other stuff is a-ok and wide open (use your imagination with colors). Some phrases are blocked as well, but it depends on the order of words or how much of the words are filled in before the filter kicks in.

Anyway, I find this absurd. That's all.

This was also my reaction. Why is there a profanity filter in the settings if there's just some stuff they decided trancends the filter? And sometimes it's localized to just profanity itself! Half of the 4 letter profanity words work just fine, but not if it ends in "uck" or "ick".

Chat filters and censorship AI are wrong. Simple as. I might get banned (again) for this "controversial" hot take but ♥♥♥♥ it. You give players the ability to mute other players. That is more than enough. If someone doesn't like what someone is saying the onus is only on them to take action to mute or avoid the other person. It is not anyone else's job to protect some weaklings feelings. If you are offended by words you shouldn't be online, you shouldn't be outside of your sad little bubble.

I don't like being censored either or being told what can and can't be seen that I type. If people want to mute, block, or report me that is fine, but put simply what corporations are doing to limit speech in their platforms is a rights infringement in my opinion.

If you want any change to occur though, typing in this forum is useless. Email their support and post in their discord.

You could even have people mass send the same 'message' to them as well to really get the point across.

The thought crossed my mind, maybe get a collection of words and/or phrases to broadcast the extent to which this one game is going. I already sunk 100+ hours into the EA for this title, and another 100+ since launch before I noticed it, so it's spilled milk at this point. Still, might be worth the effort.

Chat filters can only censor words, and poorly, but it never catches the real nasty stuff because it can't.

I don't remember it being anywhere near this when I played several months back in EA.

Kind of makes you wonder what the profanity filter toggle is even there for...
