Last Epoch

Fed up of Last Epoch bosses covering ground with overpowered waves of effects
Like the title says, I spend the game working out a fantastic build, killing everything in sight (rogue blast rain). Then i meet a boss from eg a dungeon, and all they effing do is cover the tiny ground area in waves of frost, fire poison etc to stop you using a build properly.
If i wanted to learn a pattern of the bosses Id play Dark souls type games.
How on earth does such a great open game become suddenly a small space covered with un avoidable killing mechanisms?? Its like the game was handed over to a different designer for a mini game style fight.
Absolutely hate it and its ruining the once hugely fun game for me.
Before anyone says so, yes i have resistances maxed out on a high lev character for whatever boss, but i cant keep dancing around the smegging pattern of ground covering death waves. It may be unpopular but its pathetic almost one shot kill design for bosses.

Resistance is not the only thing you need later on... You need crit avoidance or +armor/crit reduction double stat. You need to get both endurance stats up to lower taken damage % as well. Reduction in damage over time helps what little it adds too. This is not just a trait of "souls like". Many ActionRPGS have boss mechanics that are more challenging then the regular run of the much hack and slash parts of the game. Learning the fights and boss mechanics is part of games that have boss fights.

The big bosses are not meant to be facetanked.

Why not just make an easy mode option that is irreversible once chosen that prevents use of the AH and gives them a newb flag in chat.

Have been experimenting with ward and a cross between a necromancer and Warlock.
It's interesting, as my health is now always around 150, but I can survive a lot better because of the ward and the fact I can leach health and so do my minions.

Combine that with gaining ward on each kill around me, and having an emergency backup that instantly restores me to full health if I drop almost dead, it's interesting...

Does require a bunch of specific items and skills to make it work, but it's a lot better than when I was maxing out my resistances, maximising my health and health leech etc...

Had to think outside the box for this one, but it was worth it.

Interesting. My Necro has a base of around 1100 hit points. But after my Ward gear and some Ward passives I range between 3000-5000 Ward. But only around 300 hps.

Currently that necro is in empowered mono timelines and is doing fairly well.

Can you lower the difficulty level for this specific battle?
I don't have the game yet but I'm looking around for info.

Honestly it's not bad to have these types of mechanics in the game, but build diversity will suffer because some skills become unusable.
