The above does not mean Lagon is impossible. You just have to be aware of its attack pattern and pre-emptively move to other side. If you are too slow, you can hug further-most corner on each side to avoid the beam in most cases.
You run back and forth between the tentacles while watching his eye. If you're getting 1-shot, it's because you don't have any resistances OR you are not moving enough. Spec yourself out of some of those + damage passives and pick up some + resistances/defenses. Healing spells/skills, minions, and distractions (totems) can help as well.
My Beastmaster with scorpions, heals, and totems took about 12 tries. Part of that was because I crashed a few times, and I didn't have any resistances. 40 lightning and 60 cold resistances did it for me.
Also, I thought Majasa was much more difficult. You may just want to quit now if you can't kill Lagon.
Should be piece of cake for you Lagon haters.
Not to mention you can go do monoliths, and get stronger that way.
Its very hard, depending on your class, for when you reach it...which is right around lvl 50. It certainly does not feel like its scaled to level 50.
Its a much more difficult ordeal than mono lagon, because those barrier tentacles arent locked in place.
aye, and this isnt stated anywhere in the game....the only hint you get is the back door to temple when you get the one side quest.
