I don't understand why people rush to the end
I don't understand why people rush to the end game and then complain that there is no content
I played D2 for years and my highest character is ~80 only found 2-3 SOJ
I buy a game to play it as long as possible i don't rush to get the FOM biz gear or the perfect build
I enjoy playing character discovering new things trying to find a way to get around challenges without one shoting them with a op weapon or skill
if fact I find the first few lvls of characters most interesting where you get to try new skills and see what they do more than getting decked out in FOM and blasting everything

In today's age there is a lot of entertainment available, and limited time. Especially as an adult your time is limited. While younger people have the privillege of time, older ones not.

But I find today gamers people fort that fact have the attention span of gnat and if they can't get instant gratification they move on to the next shinny object

And it'll continue to happen. So what now? At this point you cannot blame players. Its up to the developers to problem solve and get creative.

with 10 hours playtime you cant judge really.
hardcore players can play 8+ hours per day.

so someone can easily play more than 100 hrs in 2 weeks.

if there is no challenging content with repeatability after that, and they ve beat the biggest challenges game has to offer, there is no real point to farm or develop the character further.

And they also ask to not have to redo everything after they did it once so they can go to end game right away with nothing to do.

Personal playstyle, cant judge on that... me personally close to getting 800hrs...

5/600 of them are running trough campaign trying new builds. Reaching endgame and soon as i hit empowerd, repeat cycle.

It's due to the cycles. You have to experience what the game has to offer within the current cycle, otherwise everything get's reset when a new cycle starts.

It's forcing you to rush to the end.

OP, if people don't rush to the end in order to be first, how will they be able to brag about it on Youtube and attract potential mates? You're being shortsighted.

Hmm then increase the time between seasons :P
the way things are going soon it will be weekly resets
I remember when seasons came out in D2 was once a year a major event

I remember in Everquest back in the day it took 18 months to get my main to the max level, and it took a lot of grinding to get there. Today's kids want instant gratification and quickly. I am semi-retired, and am in no rush.

Yes and that’s not ok either.

These games don’t have enough content to justify slowwwwww xp gain without it becoming grindy as hell.

I also think it is because of the shallow end game. In games like EQ you had end game raids, and you had to group up for dungeons with smaller groups and raids with larger groups.

In this game everything is solo play, I have not encountered the need to group up, and the real end game seems to be the ladder system.

3 months per cycle is hardly forcing, you can play at your own pace and enjoy it how you see fit and still have a high level character, legacy is still around by the way.

Rushing to end game is the name of the game for most experienced Arpg fans doing wacky builds or testing broken ones, as in games like Baldur's Gate 3 you want to take your time and enjoy the story, at least that's my line of thought hell i haven't even finished Elden Ring and i got it 1 year+ ago.
