Rogue Early Game
Anyone else finding this class kinda sucks early game... Survivabilty is all over the place if you dont go dodge but then damage sucks.

My first class was mage and it was a total breeze compared to this?

Am i missing something? or is class balance just all over the place?

Rogue has it rough, bladedancer especially.

I guess you could say low level balance but not really balance. If caster you get access to lots of ward and some resist so on. Ward is amazing especially atm.

Sentinel for instance gets lots of resist from passives including block, hp, hp% endurance and so on. Primalist does as well

Rogue really only gets dodge and you need a lot to really take advantage of it. Life is tough if you try melee rogue early on. Ranged has it way easier until you can gear up assuming you went bladedancer

Grab a 2H sword, put some physical % on it, spec Flurry, put at least 2 points in leech and 1 point in healing, then go for one of the damage branches.

Not very "rogue-like" but very effective for the early game. You can hack up entire groups in a few swings, and the more there are the more you self-heal.

Later you can spec Shuriken, go for Chakram and the node behind it, then flip of a coin, then the crit branch. Pick up some +throwing damage and attack speed and most things die before they ever reach you.

Later, Umbral Blades with Blade Storm and +throwing damage nodes is an upgrade to either of those, depending on how you want to play.

By the time you're 20-24, this is strong enough to run the level 58 monolith with even halfway decently forged gear.

My early progress through rogue was a breeze, I didn't really have to focus on survivability until I was lvl50. Maybe reconsider your build?

I feel like Rogue has the best early game survivability.

Just specialise in Shift and max the nodes that give you Healing and pick the one that cleanse status ailments.

That alone should be enough defence for the whole campaign.

One difference in Last Epoch when compared to many similar games is that forms of Regeneration and Healing (including Ward Generation) are frankly even better than most forms of Damage Mitigation. And Shift is a great healing skill, very short cooldowns, heals for a lot and removes DoTs and debuffs.

Just equip a wand and imagine you're a wizard

My advice stick with a 2H weapon until about level 30, after that you get enough points to put into other things to make dual wielding not suck

Early on focus on physical resist mostly and skills that give health on kill/crit. I think I died maybe twice while levelling my falconer rouge.

I'm playing a falconer (rogue class) and campaign is easy breezy. Loving this class. Only deaths so far have some at higher tier dungeons where I was one-shot by an elite or boss.

It's slower, but you can use a bow just to be safe if playing HC. Once you get to lvl30-40ish you can start going for the spec you want.
