Is paladin fun class?
Is there a build that focuses on the aura?

Fun? I think so but people have fun w/different things

Judgement? Holy aura? Yes and yes

Just try it out. Not like it takes more than a couple of hours. Heck you might find something else you enjoy or call fun along the way

Not fun for me
Use aura(with detonation top right nodes) with Healing hands(auto cast+melee conversion) and combine it with reave/vengeance or multistrike

I'm running a Holy Aura/Judgement/Rive build and its pretty fun. It seems geared more towards support and healing but you can do big damage with them (Holy aura gives a permanent 30% damage increase which is nice, as long as its placed as one of your skills). I'm currently running empowered monoliths and with little issue.

I use Shield Rush to barrel into the mobs, slam Judgement down, maybe toss my shield throw (other burst of mob damage other than Judgment) and then swing away with Rive. Things melt nicely. Plus using a shield/one-handed w/ holy aura offers other survivability traits. Judgement can heal you as well while its in the ground. Rive is a good single target and large mob damage dealer. It has a node that sucks enemies in while your swinging. Judgement as well is good with both single target and mobs. Hell even the Judgement passive tree has a node that makes it do more damage to bosses specifically.

Paladins seem to be geared heavily towards igniting and fire damage if you try to go for the non-support route.

I will say that initially trying to figure the Paladin out was awkward at first. It really feels like they want you to go the Smite route. I tried that and it was just to dang awkward and slow. I only use Holy Aura and Judgement from the Paladin tree. Then Shield Throw from Forge tree and Shield Rush and Rive from regular skills. Rive is an absolute powerhouse compared to the other attack skills for the Sentinel imo.
I played both Void/Paladin and its a fun class.

i find it fun with healing hands built around melee while it doesnt feel great to hit wit HH rive and judgement + holy aura with lunge is quite strong clearing mobs, lighting + fire seems to be the way to go i used smite for the longest time for movement and the skill and sigli's don't feel great ,at some point will try void knight and it sounds like people want forge guard to get a rework since its quite old
Early days yet (level 30ish) but so far I’m enjoying Multistrike triggering Smite and Healing Hands.
I have a lb 65 aura 2H judgement paladin. Does decent damage (15k) and heals for a lot while in the judgement area. It's been pretty fun so far.
Is it possible to do a Cpt America Shield Throw build with no shield throwing cooldown and pillars of fire raining on enemies the shield hits?
Paladin would generally be considered a hybrid class in a lot of games and I read that melee in this game is currently quite underwhelming so maybe if that is true then it might not be as fun as many would hope.
I have no clue specifically and have no intention of trying a paladin so couldn't care either way but there you have it. Maybe those saying melee is weak compared to casters are biased in some way but I can only go on those comments as there were a few that I read saying generally the same thing.
I guess it depends on the build so if anything maybe a paladin just needs a little more care and effort to be taken building it to be truly effective. Maybe a google search for the better builds is a good idea.

I have a warlock and I know how easy it is to gimp that sucker with just one badly chosen skill modifier.
I'm up to 35 and REALLY like the attack skills. They feel like a smooth combo set, like certain League characters (not the idiot spin).
Yes. My second Fave after Mage.
Smite Paladin with Healing Hands is kind of fun and very strong if you like to rain down holy flames on your enemies while beeing super tanky.
I feel its lacking a good 1h sword+shield (real paladin) build. It's always 2h or running around with a wand or something, which doesn't feel like a paladin :D But other than that they are great. They can do a ton of damage and staying alive at the same time

S&B are baseline for most paladin endgame builds when they play melee ^^. You need the tank later on. Sadly there is only one shield worth picking up.
