End Game Motivation?
What is your end-game motivation? A better build? But for what? If there was a pvp mode, it would be a source of motivation for me to strengthen my character and become stronger, but I don't know why I'm entering monoliths right now...

Because playing my builds is fun. I also want to push arena and corruption as high as I can because it's fun.

Power creep for the sake of power creep. Seeing the numbers grow bigger. That moment when some broken item drops for your build.
Or honestly just running around deleting monsters on your screen while listening to a funny stream in background.

Exactly the same motivation as in any other game, to achieve maximum results in those aspects that the game provides.

So I can get my corruption up high enough that people respect my build. It's a LOT Of grinding though.

end game motivation is to be the best in your class on the arena leaderboards. i reached number 1 voidknight and i had a lot of fun reaching that goal

Leaderboard can be found on lastepochtools website or in-game by pressing the keybind (L) on PC.
My endgame motivation is the same as other power creep games, do it to pass time and delete monsters

Finding items to try different classes/builds.

When I played D2 I was wondering why I played at all after having beaten every boss a gazillion times over, and with little to no way for significant upgrades for my chars. And since everything has become easy, why bother?

With LE it's different. There's still plenty to finetune with my highest-level char, and there's an infinitely scaling challenge in the form of corruption and endless arena. That's what keeps me motivated.
The only downside for me so far is that there is little to no "must-have" items, like Stone of Jordan in D2, for instance. At least I haven't seen any or heard of any. There is no wow-factor when it comes to that, it's all rather incremental. I hope that changes in the future.

Trying out non-meta builds to achieve the same as meta builds or creeping close to their performance...the crazier the better. D2, even D3 was the "OHH.....need that one item. Just to see how it works out." and grinding hours and praying to rngsus for it. LE is more like "WTF is this? Maybe I can fit it in my build." .. LE is relatively good in not absolutely forcing you into meta builds to achieve stuff.

I found at least 5 uniques already i am hard pressed to create a working build around but you can bet your butt that I will try once I have reached my own endgame goal.

Until POE2 proves that it is fun in a way LE is, my time will be sunk in to LE.
Honestly, my ADD junkie brain just enjoys the chemical release after getting cool drops. It's also nice being able to farm for other builds I might want to try, so once i get to that point on an ult, I'll already have a lot of the gear

Is this your first time playing an arpg?

There's never a "point" to endgame besides simply grinding for loot to make your builds stronger. Stronger for what? For nothing. Just for fun. That's literally it.
