Any changes with GPU drivers is relevant. That is why one of the standard procedures is using Display Driver Uninstaller and reinstall the driver properly, after such issue occured.
That in addition to verifying the game's files integrity and repairing Steam Library.
I can make a couple of comments but they are only generalisations.
When a game alt tabs out on it's own it's often a background process on your computer that's highjacking the priority and the stutter could be because this other process is taking all the PC's resources.
The fact it makes a sound might imply it's audio related but might also be a red herring. Whatever is highjacking your system could be just glitching the games audio.
My AV infrequently highjacks things on me and it's when it's trying to tell me about some pox ridden upgrade but it usually pops up a window for me. That's the sort of thing I would look out for though.
I would be guessing and maybe a simple file verification or driver rollback is the answer. Maybe the new driver has a new control app setting that needs turning off? Not activating an AMD Adrenalin hotkey or anything random are you?
It's really hard to know from half way across the world but there are a couple of ideas.
You could also try something that is really, really old school and rarely pops up anymore and ensure that your sticky keys option is turned off. That used to be a real PITA holding shift down for extended periods and would do something similar but I never hear of it anymore. Why it would suddenly start up now is beyond me and it's really unlikely but who knows.
I would rollback the driver and test if it stops.
Good luck.
Not sure why I don't think of the easiest explanations to start with! :)
