Yeah but this is still more of an way you approach your stash content and not that you are forced to re grind the stash space. Because eventually i will always have to prioritize not to end up in a sea of useless items. As long as timing of that choice is on my side, not the Cycles timing side.
And if your reasoning is you dont play they much so that takes a long time to gather, what do you need 20+ tabs for if you are playing for so little time?
I have 2 characters a aco and rogue.
I have 3 tabs for idols. 1 for general and 1 for each of the classes. a tab for each character to toss random gear in to mess with and save for crafting and those are the major ones, my other like 10 tabs are just all the random unique I have 99% of them I could just chuck cause I will never use them but I have just held onto cause i could afford the spare tabs.
They will not remove it. They will move it to legacy.
Issue is only within instance that upcoming cycle content is forcing you to regrind the "quality of life" status of your account, that stash tabs and their content gives. Cycle requires you to waste time again to grind for gold, rather the focus on building up the legendary/exalted items base, to skip the empty grind in upcoming cycles, and focus only items which are relevant for your legendary items account value and upcoming masteries relevant items. Hence enjoying the cycle endgame much faster regardless of level or campaign progrees of newly created Alt, if cycle requires you to do so to enjoy its content.
but you grind gold while building all of that up. You are not going to need 20 tabs on day 1. Its not like all your items are going to carry over so you will need somewhere to put them, You will build up a stock pile of items and gold and the only real items i see being stock piled would be unique you find since its not like you need to hold onto a item right up till you need the crafting mats. Any that are not well rolled exalts that you will save for LP crafting can just be shattered and take up 0 inventory space, and any items you are saving up for LP will take up like 1 tab.
The only reason i could see this being a issue is if you are someone who hordes every item that drops for the possibility it might be used for some random build you might wanna try out one day but even then i would not see a need for more then one tab to toss that random junk into.
As i said, I have around 20 tabs total right now. I have a aco and 3 rogues.
I use 3 tabs for idols. 1 general and 1 for each classes.
I have 2 tabs for their gear. 1 to stash my aco gear to mess with and another for my 3 rogues.
The rest of my tabs are like "helm, Belt, Body, boots, gloves." that are for unique I find and 95% of those I could chuck cause they are never going to be used so I could easily get away with 2-3 tabs for those max I have only bought all the tabs cause I had the extra gold for it.
even the uber goobers who raced to world first 100 and have been playing for 15+ hours a day are barely using 10 tabs.
This is only within an instance that cycles are connected to new masteries and game content. Because if a new masterie comes out and I can start a new Alt on my online legacy account. There is no issue. Since all the time-spent value is kept there. I just want to have an option not to grind empty hours for stuff I already did in previous cycles/seasons.
So wait its not just the tabs you wanna keep but the items in them? if that is the case there is a solution just dont play the cycle version just play the legacy or whatever it is. that is exactly what you want. it is just the game but nothing resets.
The whole point of making a "Ladder" or cycle character is to just reset and start fresh every season.
Thus far the aRPG incomprehensible trend leads me to believe that for some reason it is not reasonable to share the best items from previous seasons into a new one. So you can save yourself some time (which not a lot of people have )towards getting to the endgame content and keep upgrading our best items database. Cap it at levels ok, but let me enjoy the rewards I earned before, and don't force me to pointlessly grind for the same things again, just because I want to enjoy new content.
But thus far I do not have that feeling. As all thus far aRPG reason, it is perfectly normal to reset your account before you start enjoying the new mechanics/content of the season/cycle.
more or less for the first few "seasons" or cycles or whatever they are going to call them the cycle realm and legacy will be the same. Just the legacy will have no restart so you will keep all your characters, gold, items, tabs, faction rep etc.
Cycle characters will not be lost they are just moved to the legacy realm at the end of the cycle and anyone who wants to play on the new cycle will need to start from scratch.
However from what they have said after the first few cycles the two will be different the cycle realm will have things added and removed that legacy will not till the end of that cycle. so if you wanna play with the new toys you will either need to wait however many months the cycle last for it to be moved to legacy or start over fresh.
