One Shot Kills Are Not Fun
I've clocked over 200 hours in Last Epoch now and have extensive ARPG experience. The majority of my time with Last Epoch has been fun, and there are interesting elements to the game. The problem is there are glaring issues here and there that completely ruin the experience.

Bosses in this game having one-hit kill mechanics are ridiculous. I blasted through a Temporal Sanctum run without even breaking a sweat, and then got to the boss and was insta-killed by his first mechanic that isn't very clear on what to do. I wasted my entire run and lost a key because of it. This keeps coming up again and again. There is either some random mob or a boss that just completely deletes my character out of nowhere, while everything else doesn't stand a chance in killing me. All of my resists are close to capped.

Got to the boss got one-hit killed , then got disconnect to server...lol

I feel with you, have the same problems at bosses and everything only get worse at the empowered monos. It is nearly then playing two different games, normal maps fast and fun to farm, bosses a not very good dark souls copy. I end up stacking as much hp atm to have even a chance to escape such a one hit attack (but i am not sure if my motivation is high enough to reach this point).

Which Dungeon tier we are talking about? And whats your level and general character stats?

She has only one real one shot and that is the giant charged circle on the ground.
As soon you see her cast it use your time travel ability and wait for the boss to spawn there and continue DPS'ing it.

Boss fights in this game are badly designed. Story bosses included.
Difference is that with story boss you just respawn and try again, you can learn the fight.
Dungeons are worse as you loose everything including the key to enter it. So you can't just reenter and try again, you have to go and grind for a key.

It seems like it was lazy design to just extend the gameplay.

I agree 100%

The game could use some balance and bosses are just plan stupid. Most parts of the game are way too easy. But the bosses. some of em are crazy.

I swear, it feels like at some point the game was going to have a dodge roll because some enemy attacks just come out at the speed of death. Also, ♥♥♥♥ whichever dev or devs decided it was a good idea to not be able to revive your friends during boss battles. Both Lagon and snake ♥♥♥♥ I had to solo because my friend who was playing Falconer got instantly destroyed by Lagon's eye beam ♥♥♥♥ and snake ♥♥♥♥'s second phase instant teleport ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Have to agree. When it comes to incoming damage. You have to play 20k+ ward builds or just die. Mitigation for HP builds, even "tanky" ones just cannot do what they are built for... Getting 20k ward is 10x more tanky than anything else

I have a box of keys, don't worry you'll find more. Also almost every single person gets hit by that ability the first time, now you know to press D next time. You've improved as a person and increased your own personal value, congratulations.

Guys, maybe you try some movement? Because that's why the one-hit mechanics are there. You are not supposed to stand in front of the boss and chill. And Lagon is a harmless ♥♥♥♥♥ really.

And the worst part is, instead of fixing the overall problem; they are just gonna nerf the ward generation because some top-tier youtuber/streamer no-lifers complained about ward generation and how OP it is.

Agreed. 1 shot mechanics goes against the whole point of building a character for challenging content. If we build our defenses correctly we should be able to tank these so-called "1 shot mechanics". Being expected to always be perfect with movement is just straight up annoying for the average player.

Well investing in traversal skills on your build is a thing..
The bosses are fine. Getting one shot every now and then is part of the game.. if you mess up and stand there when they do their one shot hit.. then yeah you deserve to die.

Having a sanctum key does not mean you have a free upgrade.. it means you have a shot at an upgrade.
On one hand people complain there are no pinnacle bosses, and at the same time people complain the bosses are too hard.

Tier 4 julra is not easy. Atleast not for most builds, and thats a good thing.
Orobyss also has one skill he gets me with often at higher corruption.
The dragon boss telegraphs his one shot, and if you are in a bad position or have not invested in a traversal skill then he might get you.. same with Heorot. Lagons one shots can also be avoided by following his movements, even if I often go the wrong way since i dont know the fight well after it was remade, but that is why its good to invest in transplant or teleport or use the paranoia helmet with lunge for instance.

Why are most people so bothered by these bosses, they are called bosses for a reason they have mechanics learn them instead of complaining or research the boss fight...
