More Active Skill Keys
Could you add in a couple more active skill keys, or make it so summons don't disappear when you change out a skill? I'm playing a Necro and it's getting REALLY boring. My entire skill bar is filled with summoning skills. You have to keep them there, if you switch them out the summons disappear. That means I can do nothing but summon and run around like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No cursing, no damage, nothing... :(

Either that or consolidate skills better. There's no good reason why Skeletal Mage should be its own skill.

Welcome to a game that's not diablo. If you can't handle it, play another build or another character.

You say that you are unhappy with the poor connection to the server, this person says that you are unhappy with the basis of the game. You are not the same. xD

Well, this is funny. I like the playstyle of LE Summoner way more than in D4 because it's similar to D2 without having to dealing damage by myself.
So, I guess.. people like different things.
Btw: Why aren't you mixing it a bit...? Nobody 'forces' you to just use summoning skills...

Except the whole specialization aspect that changes each skill differently. And being a different skill, it's not sharing the same summon limit with archers/warriors, so you can have a more diverse summon army.

you have 5 buttons, which means each (ideally) is 1/5th of your power. in practice it doesn't really work out that way exactly.. but ..

if you were able to get minions up without dedicating a button, then all the other necro abilities would have to be nerfed to account for that, and if they didn't balance around the extra hidden abilities, then necro would be the new meta and everyone would play it to the exclusion of everything else -- in short: a "free" minion button would equate to 120% possible power.

This is a fair argument. I guess they are balancing around the idea that you actually do nothing and your minions do everything. It's just a bit bland and disappointing.

Play Beastmaster if you want a more hands-on summoner build. Necro tends to just sit back and let their minions do everything but with BM you have more incentive to go in and hit ♥♥♥♥ too.

I mean, or play zombies necro, or shades necro, or wraith necro

like there are plenty of ways to play necro without it being an afk simulator

No devs are married to current system, was brought up a lot back in the day and 'fans' said it was a great system, devs listened to the echo chamber doubled down and here we are. Personally I always suspected the real reason was to make an xbox port easier later on.

This is an intentional part of the design - there are tradeoffs.

Drop bone golems to be able to put bone curse on enemies? Drop transversal for another minion spell?

Reminds me of good old Guild Wars 1

While I loved Guild Wars 1 why on earth would you want to ape any of its systems in an ARPG? The genre is supposed to be about power fantasy and breaking the game, not restraint and having to choose tactically. Those are fine concepts I just don't think they have a place in Diablo-likes.
