There are basically 3 endgame activities.
1. Monolith of Fate, which is the main one. It takes by far the most amount of time to engage with. It is somewhat similar to PoE map system but it has a lot of differences. Every "map" has a different goal to complete and after you finish a certain amount of them you fight a big boss. Then you move to the next "web" of maps. This system has a corruption mechanic to it, which mean you can scale it if you want to become harder and harder.
2. Dungeons. There are 3 of them currently and the devs said they are going to release more. Every Dungeon has a unique mechanic, unique reward and a big boss in the end. As of now this is the only endgame system that is not infinitely scaling.
3. Arena, which is basically endless waves of mobs that you fight until you inevitably die. That's the place where you can see how far you can push with your current build.
Yeah that, greater rifts but with modifiers that try to (badly) mimic POEs map modifiers.
This is correct. With the changes upcoming we will have even less influence over the modifiers then we currently do.
Explain in detail how the game differs greatly from what I said?
