Its toungue-in-cheek. I'm not serious. Relax.
But I have doubt this tag was used in that sense, Gunther gave it his own meaning and it's probably more around Diablo like.
I that perspective Gunther quote shouldn't be read literally, sure some new players to the genre could have not yet buy it, some players could not have time to have buy and play it already because they enjoy a lot of genres, or because they don't have enough time to play and don't bother buy ton of games sleeping in their library.
But the point remain, if you are a fan of Diablo like, it makes no sense to not play Grim Dawn, and if at end you dislike it, too bad for you or bad luck, but the point remain. That said, at release, it's quite possible that the same could be said for Last Epoch. Not yet in my opinion, but in future, it's a possibility.
no, thats the point why this game feels good WITHOUT millions of explosions and speed speed speed runs. go play diablo or other games...
It may feel good to you but not to everybody. I happen to think the opposite.
In hardcore mode the farther you get the more effort it takes not to lose focus, with so many different damage types you can get destroyed out of nowhere if you're not paying attention.
Dying is part of the process. I've learned more playing hardcore than I ever would playing normal mode, it's an entirely different experience and forces you to be competent. Areas I used to go that had an enemy that would shred me to bits I can walk up to and not even get scratched now, playing hardcore forced me to adapt.
That sounds exactly how I play softcore, except I don't loose weeks of work when my cat jumps on my keyboard.
It makes the entire point of the game not dying, if you die you lose.
Yes but you're missing my point. I don't want to be punished because I got distracted by something outside of the game, or I lose internet, or some bug with the game. I play softcore in exactly the same way as you play hardcore but without the risk of losing my character because of something I have no control over.
You must have quite the superiority complex to think someone wouldn't know about network disconnections. There being uncontrolled variables doesn't remove from the experience and I don't care when I lose a character. You are the one missing point, entirely.
