That was the original plan, F2P up to level 20 and the sticker price was only to curb bots. I do not see them going back to that model given the changes made and price increase.
As upset I am at a box priced game having an MTX store. I am almost more upset, that they refuse to implement core gameplay features first.
Like, 3 classes with almost 0 work done on them, but sure, MTX is the priority.
Regarding the matter of MTX Shop in 0.9.1,
EHG has a responsibility to its shareholders to maximize profits, so the MTX Shop was going to be introduced with or before 1.0. 1.0 will be out before the end of the year, so it's not far off, and according to AaronActionRPG (YouTuber) EHG has a massive update in store for 0.9.2.
I think it's fair to criticize the game, but only after 1.0. EHG is gearing up to make this into the next great live service ARPG.
Tencent, its cool you can just say tencent.
Every "Update" has been "massive" and for the record 1.0 was set to come out in 2020, that statement EHG made is just as likely as any other statement.
Great Googly Moogly, just lead with that next time, so I know not to engage.
Yes but it s a quality game, just the impact spell on ennemie player feel when we play is just amazing unlike LE.
And just in case:
At least, a full production game with the new technologie requiert more money.
You know, just the fact to put a ray tracing in a game is very high price to make it.
It s a feature who latest graphic card can handle, but before they appears on a game, it s hour of line code to put.
Just think, when some game will use full functionnality of the 4000serie from nvidia, prepare your self to have 80$ base game.
Game price up no because dev are hungry, but, just because technologie evolution ask double hour of work.
As i remember, the solo dev who make bright memory (who is an exellent indie fps) just make 1 years to implement x ray tracing and dlss features on her game. The update was free, but, these feature not falling from sky, it have requiert time of work.
And that actually the probleme of last epoch, the cash shop on early acces, that mean one thing:
If playeer don t buy too mutch in the cash shop, the game have 100% to be released in way dev was not thinking.
More features= more money
Despite this, the entitled, self-absorbed, "it's all about me" crowd that is far too pervasive in today's gaming culture insist that getting a game completed is not enough. They must also continue to support and update that game, and add to it over time, all for free. Trying to create a means of actually paying employees to do all this makes them "greedy" because how dare they not give me free stuff! I paid 1995 prices for the game, I'm entitled to everything they create for it!
Its one thing to complain about cash shops that give you advantages in playing the game, or worse, are the only way its possible to play. Complaining about a cash shop that just offers things to make your character look nicer, is just being a whiner. If you're playing this game you're not a 2-year old. So grow the hell up already.
This is why I made a post explaining why EHG chose such a bad time frame to release MTX RIGHT BEFORE D4 release... Like wth lol
At least release it later maybe 6 months after 1.0 when everything is at least stable.
The amount of bugs and broken items on this patch is insane and asking people to pay for cosmetics on top of all the bugs is criminal.
Imagine if Fallout 76 was asking for more and more money oh wait they did... Now it's dead xD
What if No man's sky had a sub fee? Ye dead..
OP hit the nail on the head.
LE is one of my most regrettable purchases ever on Steam.
Ever since Grim Dawn I've been waiting for another good ARPG to come along and now all I have to look forward to is POE2.
Still, they should have fixed quite a few things before implementing it.
