Shift F for loot filter
add rule, recolor: [your favorite color] [Affixes]
now, select the minion tab in the drop down to add all minion stuff. Then, in the same rule, scroll down to acolyte. Select "shared X damage" of the damage type you want to build arround.
Save the rule. equip these gears. profit
Focus on melee only minions, skeleton warriors/rogue, remove archers from pool, get stone golems, wraiths (you can make a few permanent), use bone curse to curse all enemies constantly increasing physical damage per enemy hit, get gear with +minion damage.
Level 43 right now, still doing campaign but I have zero issues.
My build is very similar. I used skeleton archers at first, until I got an uber spear with + minion melee damage so now that's all I use.
I also use permanent wraiths and bone curse with the armor shred (it gets insane how much armor shred, and yes, it can go into the negatives).
I didn't realize there was a bone golem node, I should look into that.
I also use Assemble Abomination (also permanent).
I USED to use Bone Golem, both before and after the "buf", but I think it's the worse of the skills I use (even post-buff) and I had to swap something out for something that gives ward. It's almost mandatory in certain fights, sadly. After trying and not liking volatile zombies, I swapped to Soul Feast, and it's an amazing ward generator. Might not do as much damage as zombies, but I don't need damage. The ward is amazing.
EDIT: Oh another reason not to use bone golems, they are very loud and sound annoying. lol. My other minions don't make quite so much noise.
Hah funny, i'm in love with the bone golems, two of them just shred through most non elite enemies with one charge and then the rest take down bigger ones. I love their sound too.
"My way of playing is the only way of playing."
The only "small pets" that die easily for me is the bone minions from transplant. If you're having problems, maybe you need more minion health or something.
