Idols farming is killing my joy for this game

OK, I play a decent sorcerer glacier build, and am going to switch to a lightning build. For that build, I need 4 adorned idols (+ lightning dmg when aegis, + % lightning dmg doubled if more then 300 mana). I got the monolith buff for farming adorned idols (at 98%). I've been farming idols for about a week now. Out of the approximately 100 adorned mage idols I got; exactly 1 had the right status (albeit it being a lousy roll).

How gddmn difficult is it to get those idols? And for what? There should be a system which could influence or reroll the stats on those idols. I get that "the grind"is part of arpg's, but this is simply unreal.

What i hate of idols is those that simply have incompatible skills.

Yes, those idols are immediately botched and unusable. Not everything has to be op, but at least it should be usable.

We need some form of idol crafting. My idea would be to let you smash together 2 idols of the same type, resulting in a single new idol with 1 affix from each. I think it's a fair compromise that doesn't take away all RNG and/or makes it too easy.
